Portale
The portal is built with PET bottles of different shapes and colors collected from different sources. It is composed of two pillars which are linked by a connecting arch. It is built out of hexagonal-shaped units, with the exception of the columns’s bases and capitals. The beehive disposition comes from the shape of the bottles and their natural behavior.
The gate rises light, it is trans lucid but with an imposing presence. All the bottles are tied together in a chain to achieve this bigger shape in which every bottle counts. A joint effort like the process of collecting the bottles was.
It has both an archaic and fantastic aura. Both classical and post-apocalyptically trashy. It oscillates between a toy and archeology, between a fantasy and gothic, both hieratic and down to earth. The portal is color, light, joy, harmony.
It should represent informalism, frugality, and show the modularity of the bottles used as bricks. The value of a leftover product as found as resource. It is also about the abundance of form and craft.
